Contestants in the 2007 games were:
Savannah , Jasmine - Hank and Chris Gallup's granddaughter
Sarah 9, Lauren 7, John 4 - Micheal and Wallyne Smail's Grandchildren
Joseph 7, Adam 4, Cara 2 - Troy and Nancy Smail's Grandchildren
Audrey 12, Mira 9 - Vaughn and Mary Smail's Grandchildren
We started with a water game in the shade to cool everyone off and warm up that competitive sprit!
We quickly moved onto the big foot race. New to this race, John, Cara and Adam caught
on fast. Older Veteran players should be prepared for a more challaging Big Foot race next year!
We were onto the three legged race, a favorite of most contestants. The pressure was on for Lauren
and Sarah, they had been practicing for this moment. Loren had promised Grandpa Micheal she would win
a race for him!
The first three legged race found Sarah and Lauren 1st place at the finish
line, with enough energy to run back to the start.
The second race Joe and Jasmine pulled ahead to win!
Now the tie breaker. A false start left Joe and Jasmine tangled on the ground.
Sarah and Lauren high stepped it to the finish line to become the 2007 champions.
True to her word Loren had not only won a race for her Grandpa, she had won two!!
The water balloon toss started out gentle and ended in a free-for-all. I am not sure what happened, but I think
Mira, Audrey, and Olivia were behind it. I was partnered with Savannah and
let me tell you she can throw a water balloon like a little league pitcher.
Ever pop balloons with your butt? Well these kids did and the spectators went wild!
We ended with a tug-of-war game. Since we had nine kids we shifted little Savannah and her
little league pitcher arm back and forth between teams. The team Savannah was on always won! She must eat her
Wheaties.
It was great to see the big kids playing also. Grandpa Hank did the three legged race with Savannah. John
did the three legged race with both his mom, Becky, and his dad, Mark. Way to go grown ups!
